I am Stephen Hill (Resume), my work specialization includes Unix systems administration (FreeBSD, Solaris primarily, but all over the board, particularly in the realm of scripting, automation, process development, engineer or tools support) and Filemaker Pro database development (Primarily small business functional design.) I do a lot of database design work with International Expatriate Consulting, inc.
My website isn't really kept up in any particular way. The content from my life is primarily on my LiveJournal, or in my picture gallery. I am on MySpace although I don't pay much attention to it. Although greater detail of my interests is on those websites, I have very strong interests in traveling, talking, felines, movies, disneyland, motorcycling, photography, and my work interests (above) are very much my hobby as well.

I became interested in photography in late 2004 (it's hard to believe it's only been that long) when I started using a hand-me-down (Kodak DC260) a few times. This rapidly accelerated when I bought an Olympus D-580zoom, and the results of these pictures left me looking at Digital SLR options. I received a Nikon D70 for my birthday in 2005, and since then, the pictures have just skyrocketed. I have a few lenses currently (18-70mm f/3.5-4.5, 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6, 18mm f/1.8) and use them all for various picture trips.
To the left you can get to my showcase album, which shows off my favorite work prior to the digital SLR days. I'm quite proud of it, but much more excited about what I've been able to do with the D70. I have not collected my SLR work into a showcase album yet, mostly because it takes a great deal of time to process and clean up the pictures I actually take, I'm never caught up enough to lay out my favorites from them. My best pictures are collected in my travelogues gallery areas, and most of my more recent trips have a 'best of' sub gallery. Hopefully I'll get a simpler best of gallery up and working faster, but for now, it serves well for sharing.

Most of my life has been in the San Francisco/San Jose Bay Area, although I'm currently living in Vancouver, WA for a couple years in a kind of house sitting situation. I make regular trips to the SF bay area, and to Disneyland, and try to get out on trips to see new things and places at least monthly, with a strong focus on local places where I am, or where people I know are.

I help manage a small internet community at zo.com, and I do contract/consulting work in small office systems administration, filemaker pro, and unix systems/automation process (although my unix work is typically as a full employee rather than contract basis.) I enjoy both contract and employee based work, and am currently looking for a good company to join.
